Metro MUSIC!
This year, the cruise is looking to be bigger than ever with the addition of three "Pit Stop" locations along 28th Street. WYOMING, Mich. — After a year off due to COVID-19, the Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce announced the events for this year's 28th Street Metro Cruise. The Rapid will provide a free shuttle service for event attendees throughout the weekend. Yes – we produce a professionally printed, full color Official Program each year for this event.
It contains the Schedule, Venue Map, What’s New, and original articles. Click the NEWS menu tab and view the previous or current official Program, when available. The Main Event at Rogers Plaza, located at th Street SW, will be Friday, Aug. 26 from 2 p.m. To 9 p.m., and Saturday Aug. 27 from 11 a.m. Three Pit Stop sites have been added to Metro Cruise.
A brand-new feature launching in 2023 is our Metro Cruise PIT STOP sites. These sites offer collector cars to walk amongst, high-quality Metro Cruise entertainment, official Metro-Merch, and food vendors – but at a much more laid-back pace. There are currently 3 of them – the Oakestown Mall/Borgman Ford lot in Grandville, Betten Baker of Grand Rapids in Grandville, and the O’Reilly Auto Parts lot in Wyoming. These event sites are smaller, with each one offering unique features. Metro Cruise annually attracts 15,000+ Collector/Sports/Antique cars to the greater Grand Rapids area. An estimated 200,000 people participate in Metro Cruise® related events throughout the area!
The event originally kicked off in 2005 when the Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce organized the event to help drive business to the 28th street corridor. Ever since, the event has been a staple as the summer begins to draw to a close each year. The Miss Metro Cruise Finale – catch this crowd-favorite show, Saturday at 2pm at the MAIN EVENT at Rogers Plaza. This is a juried vote with crowd participation, as we select Miss Metro Cruise 2023 from our narrowed down group of 10 pin ups. For those into engine tinkering, mods, and horsepower, the Metro Cruise MAIN EVENT at Rogers Plaza hosts a full size mobile Dynamometer. At a very special discounted rate, get your car on this crowd favorite and get some accurate read-outs of your car.
You can cruise in and out of these at your leisure, they are first-come, first-served, with no registration. The Metro Cruise takes place on Friday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Aug. 26. The official times for the event are 2 p.m.

The MAIN EVENT sites of Metro Cruise are at Rogers Plaza in Wyoming, and Woodland Mall in Kentwood, which have major attractions and the famous Collector Car Row. Become a DREAM WHEELS featured participant. For the super-rare, pristine car owners, apply to become part of our red carpet, concours-style event. This show is under the lights, features boom cameras, a 50’ circular red carpet with bleacher seating, and is hosted by the popular emcee Eric Zane. Berger Chevrolet fiercely loves muscle cars and hot trucks. It's a great spot (our favorite) to walk around and see stationary cars and pitch our chairs to enjoy the show on 28th street.
To see a complete schedule, visit 28thstreetmetrocruise.org. The 28th Street Metro Cruise is roaring into Grand Rapids, bringing so many amazing cars, horsepower, and plenty of family fun on August 25 & 26.
